信息學院設有計算機科學系、生物信息系、大數(shù)據科學系、人工智能系、數(shù)學與統(tǒng)計學系、公共計算機教學部以及信息科學實驗教學中心等7個系(部、中心)教學機構；依托作物遺傳改良全國重點實驗室、農業(yè)微生物資源發(fā)掘與利用全國重點實驗室、果蔬園藝作物種質創(chuàng)新與利用全國重點實驗室等國家級研究平臺，建有農業(yè)農村部智慧養(yǎng)殖技術重點實驗室、農業(yè)智能技術教育部工程研究中心、農業(yè)生物信息湖北省重點實驗室、湖北省農業(yè)大數(shù)據工程技術研究中心等4個省部級科研平臺。學院設有電子信息專業(yè)學位博士點、碩士點，生物信息學、農業(yè)信息工程二級博士點、碩士點，計算機科學與技術一級學科碩士點，數(shù)學一級學科碩士點，應用統(tǒng)計專業(yè)學位碩士點；開設計算機科學與技術、生物信息學、數(shù)據科學與大數(shù)據技術、人工智能、信息與計算科學等5個本科專業(yè)。
